Yellow-tailed Black Cockatoos are one of 14 species of Cockatoo in Australia. The cockatoo family (Cacatuidae) includes Galahs, Corellas, and Cockatiels.
Red Rock Heath is one of my favorite bird-watching spots on the Mid-North Coast of New South Wales. It is an area of low-lying scrub just outside the town of Red Rock and is home to many species of birds, including White-cheeked Honeyeaters, Tawny Grassbirds, Pied Butcherbirds, Superb Fairy Wrens, Willie Wagtails, and many more.
