Osprey Stalking Fish At South Wall Ballina New South Wales. This footage is part of an amazing experience I had with an osprey at Ballina in New South Wales, Australia. This footage has been used in a blog entitled "11 Tips On How To Approach Birds For Bird Photography." To approach this bird, I used various techniques that I outline in the article. Using these techniques, I was able to get to within 8 meters of this wild bird and sit and watch it eat its fish. Ospreys are the only raptors that plunge dive to catch their prey. Unfortunately, I missed the moment the bird caught the fish as I was adjusting camera settings at the time.
